John Longley, DDS
Dr. Longley may have grown up in a small town in Iowa, but he has found a true home here in Baltimore. A decision at a young age to pursue dentistry as a career also led to a journey to different parts of the country as he built his education. He earned an associate's degree from the United States Air Force, a bachelor's degree in biology from Towson University, and completed his dental training at the University of Maryland Dental School.
"I love what I do, mostly because I do so many interesting things," Dr. Longley says. "Being a dentist is much more than restoring teeth; it is a mixture of being an engineer, an artist, a psychologist, and more. There is always something new to learn."
Since then, he has strived to provide his patients with the best care available. “I love seeing the change in attitude that happens to someone when we overcome their preconceived ideas of what a dental visit involves. The elimination of fear and nervousness is very rewarding.”
Dr. Longley and his wife, Heather, have two sons, Jason and Ryan. When he is away from the office, he enjoys activities including hiking, biking, scuba diving and golf.
He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry.
